I am a member of Interval, NOT RCI. For going to Disneyworld, what are the preferred resorts on Interval and liklihood of hitting (for February 2017).

What about RCI?

When I did a search for February there were a lot of 1 bedrooms available on Interval with wide ranging reviews. I'm not familiar with the area but are there some that have a tram or complimentary bus to the Disney parks?

We won't be spending a lot of time in the unit so location is more important to us, but at the same time we don't want to stay in a dump.

Any help is appreciated.

RCI has Disney Vacation Club (DVC).

If you are not on Lake Buena Vista, you are probably not going to have a free shuttle to DW. Since you are Flex time, any Marriott will be good, but no free shuttles. The WM properties are well liked, but again, no free shuttles.

Think there is any luck getting any of the Disney Vacation properties in February 2017?

None if you only have II.
Do you have the II AC? There have been quite a few Orlando Marriott weeks showing up with a week of check in. If you are looking for a Feb week that is not a school holiday week, you might be able to get it for $274. You could book one of the WM and cancel if the AC comes in.

hehe, yeah, I am willing to sign up for RCI if there is a chance of getting a Disney Vacation in Feb 2017 but if based upon people's experience that it is extremely difficult and almost no chance then I won't sign up for RCI.

I had a AC but when I login to II now I don't see anything about having an AC. :(

IMO, it's not worth signing up for RCI for the very small chance of getting into RCI.

For the AC, look under My Units and see if you have the AC. They used to be pretty limited. However, the current one has been pretty dynamic with more locations and options opening up the closer you get to check-in.

Hi Sue,

Yes in fact I have an AC and looks like there is availability for first week of February for an off brand location for one bedroom. The others are west gate and only studios.

I'll have to read up on using AC in terms of cost versus ifi just use points since we are within 59 days.

I'm reviving this thread as we didn't go but plan on going to Disneyworld in Orlando Florida in 2018. Very flexible schedule.

I want to chime in again as I have II but not RCI. I understand RCI has Disney, which would be great, but I don't want to sign up for RCI and put in a search for ANY week of 2018 and not get a hit. Anyone chime in on that?

Also, in regards to Worldmark properties in the general area, what are preferred?

There are 2 WorldMarks: Kingstown Reef and Reunion. Reunion has a waterpark onsite, and is all 3br units.

We have used Kingstown Reef before to add a day or two to the beginning or end of our Exchange week.

You can get 3br Reunion via RCI for 12,000 credits + HK + $239 exchange fee
You can get 1br Saratoga Springs via RCI for 9,000 credits + HK + $239 + $190 Disney "because we can" fee
(In the past couple of weeks, the latest deposit I have seen/matched is 1/28/18.)

Wyndham Bonnet Creek may be exchanged via RCI and via Club Pass.

Have you researched the various Marriotts? They can be a very easy trade or available via an AC. They would be higher quality than the other non-Disney resorts and you would not need to join RCI and could probably get it for a blue deposit making a 2 BR 6000 credits instead of the 10000 you would pay on RCI.

February is high season in Orlando. I'm not so sure a 6000 deposit would pull a Marriott in that timeframe. When I've gotten dog deposits, they've been able to see all the shoulder season stuff, but definitely not the prime season stuff in Orlando.

I just posted in the Sightings topic the Marriott Resorts which have inventory for Feb 2018 which can be pulled by a Blue 2br deposit.

An Ongoing Search with the Blue 2br deposit would likely pull additional weeks, and/or larger unit sizes.

The Marriott Orlando codes are

MCP, MGK, MGR, MGV, MHZ, MIP, MRP, MSP

MGK Lakeshore Reserve is the hardest to get. It has a lazy river.
MHZ Harbour Lake is geared toward families with small children.
MCP Cypress Harbour is across the street from Harbour Lake.
MGR/MGV Grande Vista is a mega resort with 900+ units. You may need to drive to get to activities.
MIP Imperial Palms - all 3br units, use of JW Marriott amenities
MRP Royal Palms - all 2br units, use of JW Marriott amenities
MSP Sabal Palms, all 2br units, use of JW Marriott amenities.
MSP Sabal Palms - all 2br units

***
After reviewing what is currently available, I believe it is likely that a Blue 2br deposit in an Ongoing Search will get you a Marriott Orlando 2br unit during Feb. The exception will be week 7, Washington's Birthday week. I would call VPC in the morning and ask for a 6K "green 2br" deposit.

The riskier option is to wait until late Nov, early Dec to set up a search that will match during flexchange, for 4,000 WM credits. Riskier because airfare may be higher then.

I set up the Orlando Marriott codes in my Ongoing Search with the Blue week I have deposited, and I Matched
Marriott's Cypress Harbour 2br for Feb 2 - 9, 2018 overnight.
