Here we go..... feel free to add any info here: things to see, links, places to eat...or not eat at....driving times, unit tidbits......

I heard that the PH I frac units will soon all have DVD's. Will report back in April. They are planning on 'recycling' the VCP to the master bedroom, as soon as someone comes up with an economical idea for a stand to but it on in there.

Just returned from DB. DB is like my 'home away from home'! The staff are so wonderful! Always pleasant, cheerful and helpful! They even remember my grandchildren on a first name basis! Bill Williams, Resort Mgr., does an excellent job with co-ordination, staffing and an ear to requests from owners. He takes great pride in presenting a quality product! And it shows! Depoe Bay is without question, one of our most beautiful Resorts.

DVD's are in all the WM units now. The frac DVD's are somewhere on the road between Redmond and DB..... :(

Soon there will be a Bulletin Board on the wall in the lobby, for Owners to post information for other Owners. Having a GOO, BBQ, Potluck? Post it on the Board and invite other owners to join in! (I explained GOO to him :D )

Fireworks will be Sat. July 3rd, at Boiler Bay. Just a short walk to the north. Or take the shuttle from the lobby if you don't want to walk. I imagine parking will be difficult, as it is a rather small wayside parking area.

Saw one whale from the unit while I was there. :( But I did talk to a few folks who went out on the charters, and they saw a lot of whales, and said it was well worth it!

Hey, you had better luck than Julie H. She swears that the whales are a myth - she never sees them in the multiple times that she was there. I have been there only once, and never saw them either. Can you REALLY see them from your unit? :) You experienced whale-watchers: what do you look for?

Oh yes! Right from the unit, in the LV, BD, and of course deck. We have seen them a lot, over the past 5 years there. Sometimes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and more at a time. You watch for the 'blow' and then they roll up and over and down again, then a few minutes later, 'the blow' roll and down again. They move quite a bit under water, so you have to scan the water to see where they will come up next. I even have photos (no Digital :() of them right up close to the rocks!

Whale sightings are not a myth! Thing is you have to keep looking at the ocean for their "blows". There is a resident pod in the Depoe Bay area. They can be seen from the Gleneden resort too. We sat on the porch and watched them "blowing". Take binoculars for a better view and be prepared to keep watching for them.

Hey! I know this person who has this great battery charger, about the size of a pound of margarine. It plugs into your car lighter to charge then you can carry it anywhere, and use your ac/dc adaptor to charger your batteries!
 Bet that kind of thing would solve ALL of your battery problems when away from home and you forget your AC adapters.

I love Depoe Bay. Loved it from first sight. If you see a tent on the grass, you'll know there was no room at the inn. T's photos have made me itchy for a visit!
