Only OF rooms have GREAT views. And too bad they didn't decide to install airconditioning, as hot summer nights could be noisy with the windows open for cooling the unit down. |

Pros:

Great location with the beach just outside your front door. Close to Portland for a day trip. Close to the wine country also a nice day trip. |
Cons:
Can get loud from the kids and the many cars that circle near the resort. No air conditioning and there are some summer days when you need air. |

My wife and I own a fractional at Seaside (a one bedroom one the 8th floor). We choose Seaside as it is within a 2.5 to 3 hour drive from our home and a nice place to get away to. There are many things to do in and around Seaside. We enjoy hiking at Ecola State Park (note $3.00 day pass is required), plus we enjoy the town of Cannon Beach. It is also nice to just walk on the beach for miles and sit and watch the sunset. As I mentioned in the pros a day trip can be taken to downtown Portland just 85+ miles away. We enjoy the shopping and restaurants in Portland, plus we have friends that live there. Another great day trip is to the wine country of Oregon (about a 2 hour drive). The city of Astoria is also a nice place to visit do not forget to include a climb to the top of the Astoria Column (not for the faint of heart). Plus there is good golfing at Gearheart just about 10 miles away. The summer can get busy as many teenaged kids from the city come to the coast with their loud cars so if your room is on the northside be prepared for noise. Overall we are happy with our purchase and look forward to many weeks at Seaside. |

We have been going to Seaside for over 14 years. Lots to do there both with and without the kids. The Beach is great, lots of shops, resturants and other activities within walking distance and the Cove (south at tillamook head) is great for exploring during low tide and the best place to watch storms. This was our first visit to the Trendwest resort in Seaside as we are new owners. I have stayed in a variety of the other oceanfront Condos and resorts over the years but was still pleasantly surprised by the resort. We stayed in a 2 bedroom on the 8th floor facing the south side. The views were awesome. The Unit we stayed in was very comfortable and I especially enjoyed the large master bedroom and bath. The kids were kind of bummed that the second bedroom didn't have a TV but it didn't matter much as they spent most of their time in the Game Room or at the pool. All areas of the resort were very well maintained. The activities in the game room were reasonably priced (50 cents for pool, air hockey or fussball where it costs 1.00 to play air hockey in town at the arcade). We are looking forward to many more trips to this resort. |

This is a great resort in a fun area of coastal Oregon. There is lots to do and finding just some down time will be a challenge. The resort is big but well arranged. The staff is excellent and keeps everything running smoothly. We had a 3 bedroom unit and it was huge and well kept. It had everything you would need. It faced the pool on the second floor and it also had a fantastic view. The noise from the pool at times was extreme. The pools are heated and the hot tubs were packed. The pool rules for when the pools switch over to adults only and close for the kids are strictly enforced and this was good for the noise level. The town of Seaside is easy and fun to walk around in with an arcade area that the kids enjoyed. Lots of dining near the resort. Safeway is just down the road (1/2 mile). There is tons to do around in the area. You have Cannon Beach, old military forts and barracks, an awesome Boat Museum in Astoria, quilt shops, excellent dining, Tillamook Cheese factory, and long nice coastal drives. Be prepared for 1) strong (cold) winds 2) quick changes in the weather, and 3) getting sand blasted if you are on the beach during a gale. Also be prepared for great sand dollar collecting (walk about 1/2 mile north of the resort), and great sunsets. Bring good walking shoes. We would very much go back to Seaside. |

We stayed at a 3bd penthouse (nice views) and it was very roomy. The unit and ammenities were top notch. (remember this is a PH unit) The unit had more sq ft than my first home and better laid out! My family really enjoyed or 2 days there but I'm not sure of a full week? The pool area was nice, but during adult only swim times WM needs another attraction during bad weather. Overall, this is one of the nicest resorts we have stayed at. |

Pros:

The 1 BR Deluxe was excellent; the extra deep jacuzzi was a dream. |
Cons:
The unit was too hot; and this was Dec. The units are so well insulated, that any heat via the kitchen as well as the halogen lights stays inside. we had the windows open the whole time. The door handle for the deck is poorly designed. A right handed individual will jam your knuckles due to a too tight fit with the thick molding. |

Seaside is not my favorite beach location due to crowds and noise. However, a Christmas weekend visit was perfect. We especially enjoyed the Lewis andClark National Park sites. Fort Clatsop had a special program celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Corps of Discovery moving into the fort with re-enactors portraying various parts. The National Park groups several State Parks in Oregon (Fort Stevens) and Wash (Fort Columbia and Discovery) together and new trails have been built recently. It makes for nice variety from walks on the beach when the wind comes up. Cannon Beach and Tillamook Head are also close to the south with more trails. |

Pros:

There are lots of fun activities in this area and a nice beach. |
Cons:

We were in a two-bedroom unit which seemed a bit smaller than some of the other WorldMark resorts, but was still nice. The biggest drawback was the lack of a view. Very few units have an ocean view -- unless you count stepping out onto the TINY balcony and looking down the side of the building to the ocean. |

We really enjoyed our time in Seaside. We rented a little surry-type bicycle thing for the four of us and peddled our way around town -- a fun, unique way to see the sights. I look forward to returning during the summer and renting some of their watercraft. We also enjoyed window shopping through the many little shops, and walking along the lovely beach. The unit was nice, though a little smaller than some, and the staff were accommodating. The balcony is postage-stamp size, however. There's barely enough room for a couple of people to stand out there, and the only way to see the ocean from most of these units is from these tiny balconies. Update - Dec 2007 - We had a 3-bedroom penthouse with an ocean view the next time we were here. It was WONDERFUL! We were there during the bad storm, so only had electricity for the first hour or so that we were there (but fared well anyway). A nice picture window in the living room looks out onto the ocean - as does the window in the bedroom which looks out onto the balcony -- larger than others we'd seen here and facing the ocean. We were fortunate to see a flock of pelicans fly right past the window. As in all penthouses I've been in, the furnishings were upscale. |

Older review again...sorry. Our stay at this resort was our introduction to Worldmark and we bought shortly after our visit here. The resort's location is wonderful. It's right on the main "drag" and sits virtually on the beach. You can park your car and walk all over the place...because everything is just outside your door. The aquarium (just down the boardwalk from the resort) was almost a joke by today's standards for an aquarium...but my kids loved it and it allowed alot of hands on exploration in the touch tanks...so I'd go back for them. The beach itself is great for shell hunting and bonfires (you'll likely see some big ones at night...or build one yourself). The undertow, however, is significant and I'd not let little ones get too close. There are bathrooms on the beach under the turnaround (right outside the resort)and showers to rinse off with (footshowers at the resort beachfront gates as well). The unit we had wasnt huge...but was big enough and well equipped. We had a two bedroom and discovered, with this stay, how much more pleasant it is to vacation in a fully loaded condo as opposed to a hotel room. It truly feels like a home away from home. Our room was located above the main street, on the outside of the building and the balcony was tiny (really only room for 2 chairs)...but we sat out there at night with wine watching the sun set and in the morning with coffee...watching the world go by. Some people said they found this side of the building to be too noisy...but we didnt find it unreasonable and enjoyed watching the bike-mobiles etc. If you choose to make day trips, Cannon beach is nearby and fun to visit. We also made a trip into astoria, browsing and buying some fresh fish while there. All in all..I dont think you'll be disappointed with this resort. |

*Great beach *Lots to do within walking distance *Great for kids & adults |
Cons:
*Not many rooms have a ocean view- unless you are standing on the balcany *Only good to visit in the warm months- unless you are guaranteed a full ocean view room *Felt like we had to fight with the front desk to get toilet paper & dishwashing soap! We were there for 5 days & we had to fight to get supplies! |

The room it self was fine. The location of the resort is good. Most rooms do not have an ocean view. You can walk out on the balcony & see the ocean though. I would only advise going to this resort in warm months only. You have lots to do & see during the warm months. The winter months would not be good unless you are guaranteed a full ocean view room. The Oregon Coast is very gloomy & not much to do during winter at this particular resort. If you want good resorts to go to during the winter go to Depot Bay & Gleneden on the Oregon coast. This is a great place to go for adults & children. Lots to do within walking distance. We will for sure go back some day! When checking in do ask for extra toilet paper & dishwasher soap. The resort is very strict on supplies and giving supplies to guest. I liked the pool, movie rentals & beach access was great! The town is cute & do eat at the Pig –N- Pancake! Cannon Beach & Astoria is not far & both towns have Pig – N- Pancakes which is wonderful affordable family dining. Here aresome websites tocheck out: Seaside: www.seasidechamber.com Cannon Beach: www.cannonbeach.org Astoria: www.oldoregon.com |
