Even though I do not feel the living room accomodations are comfortable, the resort is in a perfect area. The beach is fantastic, plenty of good places to eat, and close to Hearst Castle, San Luis Obispo, Solvang and Santa Barbara. I have been there twice and would not hesitate to go back again. We love visiting Pismo Beach and this property has almost everything. We go at least once each year, generally during one of the two jazz festivals held in Pismo Beach annually. It is 100% WM style. The rooms are clean, well appointed and quiet. Drawback is that the size of the units is a bit scaled down. The BBQs work great. There is a [small] swimming pool. It is only a few steps from the beach. The hotel that is adjacent is where you check-in and are very accommodating. They have bicycles and quada-cycles available for use (free). A 4-star restaurant is upstairs. Located just a couple of streets over from the main boardwalk/wharf area. Weather is great all-year round, even in February. The beach is clean and fun. All-in-all: delightful! |

noise from upstairs was appalling: the tile floors result in amplified sound for any chair being pushed back etc. Too small for more than 2. |

This is a great location. Lots of things to do and see. We stayed in the downstairs 1-BR listed as less desirable location. We spend our time out seeing the sights so weren't bothered by the lack of a view. However, the lack of soundproofing and the noise from upstairs means we won't be back unless we get a top unit. The living room is too small for the murphy bed. |

The WM units are behind a hotel so have limited or no view. Also, no air conditioning. |

The best thing about this resort is its location. It's just steps from the beach and a short walk to the Pismo Beach Pier. The downside is the unit configuration and lack of air conditioning. We had a traveling party of 3 and it was pretty cozy. There is one small bathroom and the laundry is in the bathroom. The vanity was outside of the main part of the bathroom and the master bedroom door overlapped with the bathroom door. Not a really great layout. You can see that the murphy beds were added to accdommodate the usually WM standards. The unit was decorated nicely enough. The kitchen had very little space and there was no place for luggage or clothes for the person staying in the living room. The lack of air coditioning became a real problem because of outside noise. Since there is no a/c, you need to leave the windows open. The noise woke us up pretty much every day. Also, like every other WM resort we've stayed in, the daylight also woke us up. There were tons of things to do in the area. We went to the melodrama, to Hearst Castle, to Montana de Oro State Park, and several other places. We had a great time. |

I had my eyes peeled for the first few weeks of our WM membership looking for bonus time at Pismo Beach. We live just 10 minutes away in San Luis Obispo so it is not novel to us, but a night away on the beach still has its fascinations. Well, we jumped on the opportunity when a Thursday night vacancy in a second floor room turned up just a week before Thanksgiving. Yes, the room is relatively small and I would not book it for more than 2 people, but it was just fine for my husband and me. We somehow ended up with what I’m sure is the best room, #210. It is on the end and has a view of the ocean. Sitting on the patio and enjoying the view, we saw lots of evidence of whales as they surfaced to breath, but I can’t say we actually saw a whale. Positives: LOCATION in a delightful little beach city with lots of places and sights within 60 miles or so. Well-stocked decent medium sized kitchen with ocean view (only in room 210). Mirror closet doors (very sexy). Okay bed. Plenty of room for two. Pleasant patio with barbeque (shared with other occupants). Clean. Marine theme décor. Wonderful walking beach. Great bird watching. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Neutral: Cramped bathroom with washer and dryer. Dining table must be moved to open Murphy bed. Lacks privacy for more than two people. Converted motel ambiance. Negatives: Half of the hot tub jets were still not working; however, the working half was heavenly! The weather was perfect, sunny in the mid 70’s. We took our bikes and drove the short distance to the park-and-ride lot for the Bob Jones trail. It’s a wonderful bike path off the Avila Beach exit. This kind of get away is exactly why we bought into WM. |
