Pros:    Good proximity to Yosemite. Unit had a powder room on the lower level, in addition to the living room and kitchen. Two bedrooms and two full baths upstairs. It appears that all units have the same floorplan. Townhouse style means no noisy kids running above. Limited shared walls meant no neighbor noise. Fall is a great time to visit Yosemite (no crowds), but ...
Cons:   ...the town of Bass Lake has little to offer in the fall. The lake has been drained so it isn't very scenic.
Review: We had excellent weather (sunny warm days) for hiling in Yosemite (50s-60s). Elevation is a bit lower than Yosemite. resort grounds are nothing exciting. You can tell that these units are older than some in the WM system that we've been to (Angels Camp, Windsor).

We'll certainly go again!

Pros:    We did a split week between Bass Lake and Tahoe II in June of 2002. Bass Lake was on the second leg of our week's vacation.

We were really impressed with Bass Lake and the units. The grounds were very clean and well kept. Very nicely landscaped. The room quality was very nice and clean. We had an end unit close to the pool and hottub. The deck was off of the kitchen with a BBQ and table and 4 chairs.

The whole unit was very clean and nicely decorated. We had a two bdrm and they were upstairs with a bath in the master bath and a bathroom in the upstairs off of the second bdrm. There is also a half bath as you walk in the front door.
Cons:   I could not see anything that I would say that we disliked about Bass lake. We simply loved it and would love to go back again.
Review: As I said, we would put this on our return list (which we have a few listed). The resort is within a half a hour of Yosemite. We could not see what we would have liked to have seen in Yosemite in the 4 days that we were there. We missed a few things that we wanted to see. I would want to stay there more than 4 days.

Yosemite is so beautiful with the Merced River flowing through it. We were lucky enough to be there early in the season to see the fullness of the waterfalls. There are many hiking trails going all through the valley.
There are many activites in the surrounding area.

The weather while we were there was in the 80's and perfect.

Pros:    The townhouse style is very quiet. It allows some to be taking a nap upstairs while others are carrying on downstairs. The 1/2 bath downstairs allows the person on the murphy bed to have their own bath. Very nice location.
Cons:
Review: I've been here twice, once as a base after a backpack in the Sierras in September and later for snowshoeing in Yosemite in January. It's about a half hour from the south entrance to Yosemite and the Mariposa Grove of
Sequioas. Yosemite Valley is a bit of a drive, but the excellent accommodations make up for that. In season (not winter) there is a very nice drive up into the mountains up towards the Ansel Adams Wilderness Area with nice viewpoints along the way. The town doesn't have much and the lake level was low in the winter, but we weren't interested in boating and appreciated the silence without powerboats.

Pros:    Love the townhouse, 2 story set up.
Spacious two bedroom, 2.5 baths.
Clean.
Tastefully decorated.
Well maintained.
Friendly staff.
Quiet, (at least at this time of year.)
Cons:   None with the resort.
Review: We had a mini vacation this past weekend at Bass Lake. It was our first visit. We are in Riverside county, California and left at 8:15 pm Friday night, (tried for 4 pm but it didn' t happen!), knowing Bass Lake is 345 miles away.

We hit heavy fog once we reached Bakersfield that continued right up until we started up the mountain. Finding the resort was a little confusing at first, (in the dark), because of the way the road signs are.

What a welcome site though once we reached the resort. We arrived a little after 3 am and was greeted by Jason at the check in. He was so friendly and it really set the mood for the rest of our stay! (I found out that he had just left Hemet a few months earlier which is only 14 miles East of my town Nuevo! What a small world.)

We were in Building 3, Unit 9B. Parking was so convenient, right in front of the units! The townhouses are so spacious and wonderfully decorated. We had a view of the spa and pool across the parking lot. We had only two thirds of our family with us on this trip, but had we brought our two teenagers, we still would have had plenty of room.

There are gas barbecues on the little patios outside the dining room sliding glass door. The kitchen was a full kitchen with an automatic ice maker and I really liked the whole setup.

The fireplace was a little on the weak side but enjoyable all the same. The staff had already set the heater before our arrival so it was comfortable already.

Upstairs was the master bedroom & bathroom, as well as the 2nd bedroom which had twin beds and a dresser. The master bedroom had a tv and a vcr, (we brought our own travel dvd player but didn' t end up using it.)

Downstairs is the kitchen, diningroom, livingroom, laundry closet, half bathroom, and cloak closet. The townhouse has one of the wonderfully comfortable murphy beds, a coach, two comfortable chairs, side tables and lamps, and a coffee table. The set up made it very convenient to watch tv, play yahtzee, and enjoy the fireplace all at once.

We finally hit the sack at about 4 am and our little one got us up at 8:30 am, anxious to see Yosemite. We had brought p-nut butter, pomegranate jam, bread, and bananas with us so we had a quick breakfast of toasted p-nut butter and jam sandwiches and a banana. While my husband and I got ready, my sister took our daughter over to the basketball court. There is a pool table and two computers in the front office, games that can be checked out, and movies to rent. I forgot to look at their gift corner as I got caught up looking at the little brochures and the great info they have on Yosemite. While we were there, no resort activities were going on, don' t know if they have some during the warmer months, but I am sure most of the owners either visit the lake or Yosemite. The pool is seasonal and it was covered with heavy tarps. The spa or jacuzzi is open year round.

We normally book Big Bear so that we can play in the snow at least one weekend of winter. The weather has not been optimal for snow play there so we booked Bass Lake, (weather channel expected snow for Saturday), hoping to play in snow. There really was no snow to speak of until we entered Yosemite and reached Wawona, (we needed gas and the Chevron station there is so convenient and was actually priced cheaper than here at home!)

After looking at all of the little Yosemite maps we picked up in the resort office, we decided to check out the ski area. Boy, as soon as you get past the first bend it is like another world. Lots of snow all the way to the ski area. We pulled over at one of the turnouts and my husband and daughter sledded to their hearts delight.

At about 2 pm we continued on into Yosemite to see the waterfalls. My family loved going through the mountain tunnel and we stopped to start reading the information placques that can be found in many areas of the park. (Take the time to read them...it helps you understand the significance of everything you are seeing!) Magnificent is the only way to describe this National Park. Bridal Veil Falls was too beautiful to just view from the road so we hiked the 200 yard hike in to see it up close. Breathtaking and worth the hike! The temp reached about 57 degrees in some areas and about 44 in others but we enjoyed it.

We continued on through the park stopping along the way to take in the sights. There is so much to see that our next trip we hope to spend a week exploring Yosemite. About 6 pm we decided to head back to get dinner. Next time we will book reservations for the Awahanee Hotel dinner which is suppose to be fabulous and we will also have dinner one night at the Mountain Lodge which boasts the best dining view in the valley.

Dinner was at Ducey' s by the Lake. On arrival it seemed that the hostess was really trying to get us to eat upstairs in the bar & grill instead of downstairs. (After the so-so food and obnoxious foul mouthed patrons next to us, I wish we had just turned around and left.) The food is definitely not worth the price and there was no ambiance at all.

The rest of the evening was spent at the resort watching tv and playing yahtzee. I did a load of clothes, (wet from snowplay), and the washer and dryer worked beautifully. The resort was very quiet and we had a great nights rest. We checked out at about 10 am Sunday. For only spending 30 hours total in Bass Lake and Yosemite, we really felt like it was one of the best places we have ever been to. We did not feel rushed and we came away feeling rested and extremely content.

Next time we will try the spring or summer when we can bring our boat up. The resort is conveniently located within 2 miles of the marina and you can park your boat at the resort next to your vehicle. Also the snowmobiling rental will be on our winter visit agenda. This resort is not as big as Big Bear but the units are much nicer in my opinion. The grounds were nicely kept and I can already picture the wisteria in full bloom that arch over the wood trellises surrounding the sidewalk to each set of townhouses. Can' t wait to go back!

Pros:    Resort close to Bass Lake & Yosemite
Cons:   Activity room is very tiny and there is no exercise room
Review: Spent 4 bonus days at Bass Lake! Bass lake in the summer is a great location for the family! We did so much where do you start. Yosemite, boating, fishing, skiing, site seeing and hiking.
Worldmark Bass Lake is very nice, all rooms were completely remodeled in 2006. The 2BDRM has bedrooms upstairs and a powder room downstairs. Rooms are spacious and function well. Weather was warm to hot, but manageable.
We went to Yosemite and had a great time,(park entrance fee is $20.00 for the family vehicle and is good for 1 week) I would suggest you do a little research on what you want to see(too much to see) before you go, also at the park entrance they will give you a map with your paid entrance fee, look it over it's helpful. Also a good source for info is
http://www.nps.gov/yose
There are numerous places to eat in Yosemite Valley, we ate lunch at the Ahwahnee - lunch was very good and reasonably priced
http://www.yosemitepark.com/Dining_AhwahneeDiningRoom.aspx
We also went boating - what can I say Fun Fun Fun!!!!!!!!!!
When we there the Pines resort(just up the road from Worldmark, a 10 minute drive)was having \"Jazz on the Lake\" we had a great time! Dinner, Live entertainment, and fireworks. Food was good, entertainment was fantastic and the fireworks topped off the evening! The Pines has entertainment all year long so make reservations before you go http://www.basslake.com/ My family had a great vacation and I'm sure yours will too! Pettey Family

Pros:    Near Yosemite National Park. Near beautiful Bass Lake!!
Cons:   If you don't care for boating, fishing and hiking in Yosemite, nothing much is happening around here!
Review: Our family stayed at WorldMark Bass Lake for one night in July 2007, after hiking in and around Yosemite National Park. We checked in at 5 PM, and the process was very smooth. It looked like they assigned our units as we were checking in (as opposed to assigning the units ahead of time, as popularly believed.)

Unit Features: All units are 2BR at this resort, and looked to be about 1400 sq. ft. It was clean and well-maintained. There are a few special needs units. Unit has both bedrooms on the second floor. Two full bathrooms are upstairs - one private and attached to the master bed room, and the other one common, for guests. There is a half bath downstairs. A Murphy bed is available in the living room, downstairs.

The kitchen has all the usual amenities including spices and coffee. Kitchen also contains a full oven, standard sized refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and a full electric range. Toaster, blender and electric mixer/beater were also available. The dining table had space for 6. The unit also had a washer and dryer. The living area had a sofa bed, a gas fireplace, DVD player,TV and a Radio/CD player.

At the resort there are very few co-ordinated activities, however there is a basketball court and a kids play area. The large pool and hot tub were also well-maintained.

About 3 miles from the resort is the world famous lake where several movies were filmes. If you have a boat with you, make sure to check with the office and get the discount coupons for launching the boat at the Bass Lake Marina. This resort is about 20 minutes outside the South entrance of Yosemite National Park. Just inside the South entrance to Yosemite we get to hike near the Giant Redwoods. To get to Yosemite Valley one would need to drive about one and half hour drive through the park.

This resort is a fun place for families who is interested in staying a quiet place near the lake and Yosemite National Park.

Pros:    very clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly. Nice pool and spa.
If you are into any kind of boating it is great. Very quiet resort.
Cons:   It is a little confusing finding the resort.
Review: We used it as a base for hiking in Yosemite. It is a little less than an hour to Glacier Point and an hour and 15 minutes to Yosemite Valley. Oakhurst is about 20 minutes away and a nice little town with everything you need. it is an ideal location for exploring the Sierra Nevadas.
