Pros:    Excellent pool area. Good location.
Cons:   Lack of air conditioning is a big problem in the summer if weather gets over about 78°
Review: Units are on par with other new resorts like Oceanside and Rancho Vistoso. Upstairs units are stair-accessible and have private balconies. The downstairs units have a patio area that is open on all sides to the rest of the resort grounds or forest.

The pool area is wonderful. The main pool is extremely large. The rec room has 2 or 3 coin-op pool tables, air hockey, a dart board, and some arcade games. There were some breakfast and afternoon barbeque events. The main office has at least one computer for guest usage.

The Big Bear area offers many activities including hiking, biking, boating and fishing.

Pros:    Three trips this year. The pool is nice in the summer. It was almost 90 and the room was ok. (no air) Maybe the 2ed story rooms are warmer. Winter time is nice, the stores are near by, Went to Vons while it was snowing. Only a few blocks.
Cons:   Can't think of any

Pros:    Lovely mountain setting but close to a lot of things. Nicely laid out and nice fireplace.
Cons:   Like most other WM resorts, can hear every footfall above you. Also, no A/C.
Review: We stayed in 2 3-bedroom units with a couple of our married children and their children. Everybody had a great time. The units were very nice. There were only 2 bathrooms but the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms had a vanity with a sink in the entryway to rooms. Very nice.

The night was cold but the pool was very warm and even the skinny 3-year-old was comfortable in the pool.

Cons:   couldn't think of any.
Review: It was our first stay at a Worldmark resort since we became owners in March 2005. We stayed in Rm 116 (one bedrm) and we were delighted! It was quite comfortable and my daughters (age 3 & 1-1/2) seemed happy exploring the place. We were right across from the spa which was nice. Actually, all the rooms were close to the spa (80-100 yards max distance). We were surprised to know that the resort staff planned a lot of activities throughout the week like (pancake brkfast, bingo, ice cream socials, and other activities). I was glad we became owners. The pool was sparkling. We did have AC in our room. WM must have just recently added central units to their rooms. We did hear our neighbors upstairs prancing around but the noises were minimal. All in all, Big Bear was a really nice place to stay. Very beautiful in the fall season.

Cons:   none
Review: We enjoyed a wonderful two night getaway in Big Bear. We arrived around 5:30 on Sunday (bonus time) and our room was ready. We ooed and awed at the room (remember we are new members and have only experienced one other WM resort). After a quick dinner that I prepared in the clean well-equipped kitchen, we explored the grounds. We were impressed with the facilities...well, except the tennis net was a little saggy, but we had no intension of playing tennis this trip.

My husband kept saying, "I like this place!" and it is indeed the woodsy kind of place that he enjoys.

We were in room 154 and just a short distance away was the covered huge spa. We took advantage of it both nights.

We don't have a gas barbeque at home and have never used one so we had to call our daughter to ask how to cook our chicken breasts. She forgot to tell us to preheat the barbeque so it took longer than we expected but we truly relished our meal. Next time we'll know to preheat.

The bed was a little too firm but okay. The room was well stocked with extra towels, blankets, pillows, etc.

One thing I find kind of interesting with WM is that they provide so many things: dish detergent, laundry detergent, spices, coffee, tea not to mention the welcome goody bags with toothpaste, face cream, gum, etc.
But no shampoo! Why no shampoo?

We took a lovely walk and a strenuous hike and appreciated the Big Bear area. We wanted to take our bikes, but due to unforeseen circumstances we couldn't this time. But we sure will next time. There are marvelous petal paths right near the resort.

I also appreciated the short walk to the markets to buy ice cream.

The staff was friendly and helpful. When I asked to see some of the 2 and 3 bedroom units she gave me key cards and we could let ourselves in and take a look. They rooms looked equally nice but someone had spilled something dark on the carpet in one master bedroom that left a dark 6 inch circular imperfection.

We hope to visit Big Bear again in the fall. It turned out to be a perfect time to go, sunny with just a little nip in the air.
