Pros:    Location. Canmore provides good access to Banff, Lake Louise, and the Kananaskis area. The latter includes Spray and Peter Lougheed Provincial Park which are beautiful.
Units are well-furnished and comfortable.
Excellent staff was exceptionally helpful and anxious to please.
Cons:   Very small especially for the credits. The one BR have beds for 6 but 4 would be a very tight squeeze.
The new toilet plungers emit a very strong chemical odor that permeates anything in the hall closet making that closet unuseable. With this small of a unit, all storage space is needed so those plungers need to be replaced.
The air conditioning/heater is noisy even when it's off.
Review: Two of us stayed in a 1 BR unit in early June. The units are very nice, but small. This is really a 1 BR suite. The kitchen is very small with no oven and room for only 1 person at a time. However, for a small space, the kitchen is well put together with cabinet space maximized. The dining table is squeezed into a small wall space between the kitchen and the bedroom door with one of the 4 chairs blocking the dishwasher from opening. We just took one of the chairs out and put it in the closet.
Layout: I peeked into several different units and most of the 1 BR are squares with the master/bathroom taking up half and the living room/kitchen in the other half. The masters have either a king or 2 queens. This is contrary to what my confirmation said; 1 queen and a Q sofa sleeper. The person at the front desk told me all the 1 BR have 2 queens except the K units. I was expecting to sleep on the sofa sleeper so this was a nice surprise. There is a separate sink area with the closet and then the toilet and bath/shower are in a separate room. It's a nice shower head, but the curtain is cheap and porous and doesn't do a very good job of keeping the water off the floor.
The other half: as you enter, there is a hall closet and then kitchen with refrigerator, micro, 4 burners, dishwasher and maybe 2 feet of counter space. The dining/kitchen table is a small wood one with 4 chairs. Standing at the kitchen sink, you can reach the refrigerator to your right and the table to your left. Definitely a 1 person at a time kitchen, but enough for a couple of people on vacation.
The living room has a nice couch, TV etc and a sliding door that does not lead to a balcony. The units are very tightly insulated and, as a result, very warm. As a result, having the larger door vs a window in the living room provided good ventilation. However, it looked like most 1 BR had a window instead of the door.
There are a few balcony (either 4 or 6) units and some fireplace units. These are mixed in with the 1 BR and are assigned first as the higher priority units (balconies first and then fireplaces). The balconies were all on the 5th floor with the 6th being the top floor.
The 1 BR king unit I saw was the same size as the other with the king centered in the same space taken up by 2 Q in teh other. The pictures posted in the forum show a king with much less room so there are various configurations.
The 2 BR units have the living room in the center with a bedroom and bath on opposite sides. Each bedroom has 1 queen bed making the number of beds the same as in the 1 BR units. The bedrooms were smaller than the 1 BR units.
The resort is built into a hill with entry on the 4th floor. There are no washer/dryers in the units, but laundry is available on the 2,3 and 4th floors. It looked like there will be plenty available once they get the last ones hooked up.
The pool has a covered area as well as an outdoor section similar to Birch Bay. There is also a hot tub under cover. The exercise room is shared with another resort which is connected to the Worldmark building but separated by a stairway. There are games in an area off the main room at the entry which has couches, TV and computer. A couple of barbeques are available in the central area as well.
There are bike/walking paths throughout the area along with the trails in Banff etc. The Three Sisters Parkway, where the resort is located, has a lot of condos and vacation homes and there are trails through all of them. There was a warning of a grizzly sighting in the area so we didn't check out any of the trails. June is still spring in this area and the grizzlies and cubs are hungry and cruising the lowlands for food. Later in the season, when the snow has melted, this shouldn't be a problem and this area would be a nice one for bikes. There is also a trail along the Bow River, but some is packed gravel and might not be good for road bikes. The Bow Valley Parkway is also a nice spot for biking and wildlife viewing.
Canmore is small with lots of building going on of vacation homes. There are 2 large grocery stores. There's not much in the way of galleries etc either, though there are a few.

Pros:    It was nice but only thing is that they should not charge for Internet... it is so cheap that we pay so much dues that we can afford some luxury like internet especially wireless. The rooms are capable to handle direct wire internet... rooms are good size, we stayed on a 2BR and it was good also in a SUITE and it was very cool for a Suite. The Staff very friendly.
Cons:   We share the pool with the Great Canadian Resort, laundry are charged not like the other resorts of worldmark.
Review: I really like it... the view from our unit was great viewing the pool and mountains.

Pros:    Nice staff, coffee, lobby computer with printer.
Cons:   Potato Peeler, No hot tub bubbles, No oven, construction.
Review: We stayed there June 30 – July 10, 2007. We stayed in a studio on the entrance level (4th floor?). There was construction going on while we were there just outside our ground floor window. (M-F 8-4).

Our room was just across from the laundry, and it wasn’t a problem, we never heard anything from the laundry.

The pool was inside/outside (a small part was inside). There were 2 hot tubs 1 inside and 1 outside and 1 sauna. None of the hot tubs were very hot and neither was the sauna. The jets in the hot tub hardly worked at all (no bubbles). The pool area was shared with another timeshare THE GRAND CANADIAN RESORT OF THE ROCKIES. The buildings were attached and the pool area was in the WorldMark part of the building. The pool closed promptly at 10:00 p.m.

They had plenty of good coffee in the lobby. The pool table and foosball tables were both broken during our entire stay. The other lobby video games appeared to be working and all cost from $1 - $2.

The barbeques were just off the lobby. There were only 2 and were quite busy at meal times. On the holiday (Canada Day July 1st) one of the barbeques was out of propane. They are putting in natural gas and it looked like they were just waiting for the city inspector.

There was a free computer to use in the lobby with internet access and a printer. We spent the $15.99 for in-room access with our laptop. The in-room access worked well, it never seemed slow.

3 of the nights all the parking outside the entrance was full and we parked in the underground parking lot. There weren’t many spaces underground (20 at most).

The room was pretty good for a studio. The kitchen was well equipped, except that it didn’t have an oven, and the potato peeler was useless.

Pros:    This is a great resort! We had a 1-bedroom, 6th floor, view of the 3 Sisters and the pool. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. No problems with the room or grounds. We used the parking garage most of the time. Even though here in August, the weather was changeable. We had cold, cloudy the first few days, then warm sunny, back to cloudy the last day. We wanted to do nature photography, but the weather was not a real problem. The clouds and mist over the mountain tops were beautiful and a great contrast to the sunnier days. We spent most time in Banff (Gondola of course is a must), Lake Minnewanka, and surrounding areas. Didn't even begin to see it all. Liked shopping in Canmore better than Banff. Seemed to have a better variety of shops and more affordable. We prepared most of our own meals, packing picnics for our day trips, but Canmore seems to have more than enough good restaurants. Several have outdoor dining.
Cons:   As someone else mentioned, the jets in the hot tub were minimal, otherwise we really enjoyed the pool, hot tub, sauna. Rooms are not as big as others we have stayed in but were more than adequate and nicely decorated. An oven would be nice, but not required (we're on vacation, right?!) Would like to have free internet in our room (you have to pay). Tried using the free access in the lobby. It was ok, but finally decided to pay the $15 or so to have access from our room.
Review: We reserved a room the first day reservations were opened and were not disappointed. There is so much to do in the area and the accomodations are especially nice, we actually reserved a room for next year, while still at Canmore. We stopped at the tourism information center in town and found the staff there incredibly helpful. We told the young woman there what we wanted to do and she mapped out a number of options for us, most of which we followed. We were able to watch a small herd of elk behind the WM resort, as well as a couple of coyote, from our room window. Lots of wildlife so be aware of that....and that they are WILD. Respect that.
Beautiful place. Highly recommend it. Lovely town, gorgeous area, plenty to do and near perfect accomodations. How can you beat it?
