Pros:

Nice units. A lot to do in the area. Huge pool at the clubhouse, plus one other on the property. Hot tubs at each pool, plus a couple extras on the grounds. Unit size is excellent. Master in two-story two-bedroom units (most of the 2-bedroom units) is private and large. |

Cons:
|
They've had a tough time keeping housekeeping crew. Units are sometimes not ready by 4:00, and never ready for early arrivals. Overstretched crew seems to do what is on their 'checklist' but nothing else (dust was 1/4 inch thick on our ceiling fan- glad I noticed before turning it on. Starters on the BBQs here (and most other WM locations) don't work correctly. A 98 cent lighter would be nice. Staff hasn't been able to enforce unit limits when large extended families have been staying above us. |

I had to put a date in the 'date visited' section above, but have actually had eight 1-3 night visits to this resort. Visitied in January, March, May, August, September, October, and November. I went on a bit in the 'cons' section above, but that was an accumulation of 8 trips worth of complaints. Overall experience has been wonderful. Grounds are nice, facilities are excellent. As area gets more popular, the area is getting more amenities- for better or for worse. You appreciate the Starbucks when you want a cup of coffee, but it is also a sign that the area is losing some of its small town charm (that strip mall wasn't there in 1998). Plenty to do in the area. Caverns to tour/explore, great little old gold rush towns. Big Trees S.P. is not very crowded and has great hikes. My wife loves the artsy fartsy shops in some of the area towns (Murphys, Sonora, San Andreas). I'm not a golfer, but here Greenhorn Creek (which the resort borders) is excellent. Several small wineries in the area. Could get snow in the winter, but generally nice foothill (above the fog, below the snow) weather. Can get hot in the summer. On hot summer days, head to the caverns or Big Trees (shade and higher elevation). |

Secret Swimming Hole - Natural Bridges Contributed by Ken Faust from TUG I lived in Angels Camp in my 20s and one thing I learned is that it gets hot in June - around 90 degrees. We as locals had a secret swimming hole - named \"natural bridges\"... You had to know where the old cows watering trough was, park your car, walk down the canyon to a stream that ran through a cave that you can swim through. The water is very calm in the cave. Its like swimming thru Alice in Wonderland. Nowadays, there is a sign and trail you can follow. Its a good day trip - one of the hidden treasures of the Sierras. Also, ask the locals at Angels Camp about \"Natural bridges\" if you get lost. Cost: Free (no admission fees) Directions: Follow Hwy. 4 East through Angels Camp toward Vallecito. Approximately five miles out of Angels Camp, turn right on Parrotts Ferry Rd., about one mile past Moaning Caves http://www.bstorage.com/photo/US/CA/GoldCountry/AngelsCamp/pages/0209-2816a.htm *Please respect the ecology of the site - if you pack it in, pack it out! |

Lots of near by things to see for all ages. Snow a short drive away. [Or just six feet outside your door this last time not norm :)] During non-winter have done caverns,mineing/paning. There is Golf, wine tasting, lots of beutiful site seeing and nice little shops to checkout. And so much more that I haven't done yet like the frog jumping contest...... |

My March Madness is always a weekend in the snowy mountains and swimming in the pool at Angels Camp with all my little Angels/Devils (neices/nephews). I have been going to Angels camp every year late March for this wonderful time for seven years and must say the kids love it. Also theres a Keltic Fair here around this time. This past July 05 I visited Angels camp to take them to caverns and mining and paning and Visiting Historic Old mining Towns which still are here just may have to stay at the old hotel in James Town some time to help support the park. Also have to com back for frog jumping contest som time. The resort and staff have always been great and helpful. The units have always been what I have come to expect from all worldmark resorts. This Place stes the standard for my expectations. So out of the 16 units from the last 7 years 8 visits. here are the issues I have seen.2 BBQ starter buttons didn't work and I had to use my lighter I must say that 1 of them just looked like it had just been used so much it was just getting a bit old even my bbq at home need replacing after only 5 years. So no biggy. Out of the 8 visits(3days each) two times when we went swimming they where out of clean swiming towels and once they said they would bring some to pool when there where ready 2hrs no towels just went back and got them other time we had the one of my guest go stright from poolside to lobby to get some more. Will sned some photos when we get them online. :) One fireplace didn't work called front office ther appoogized said they send some one but they couldn't fix it and where full so couldnt change rooms until next day which I said don't worry not worth changing rooms over any way. (hate repacking hehe) Would be nice if they had better info or the ability on getting the snow parking passes first year we went got a ticket because we dint know where to get one and we where already at the park and it wasn't at the park hehe. I know most of this is pretty weak complaints. But I make them to demonstrate that out of all the visits this is the best I can do with complaining. Oh except my big pet pevy which is them bothering my guest to go see presentations even when i ask them when the call not to call any of my other guest the apologize for bothering but still call other of my guest but they say the other person didn't inform them. Still dont know why members and there guest are called anyway if you wanted to include invites in the room check-in papers that should be enough the fact they bother my gust and some have bought and I didnt recieve a referal just seems wrong somehow.. Ps. I have had all types of units here enjoyed them all but would have to say that the 2 bdr penthouses are not worth the extra credits even if the extra credits where halfed. Ben |

We stayed 3 nights in a 3-bedroom penthouse. It had a really nice layout and some features that all units should have. The one feature that we don't see in many units but that this one had is a "pocket-door" from the 3rd bedroom to the bathroom. There were 2 bedrooms on the lower level, each with it's own bath and whirlpool tub, with the larger bedroom having a true master bath with a tub and shower. Upstairs is the actaul master bedroom, again with a beautiful bathroom. I'll tell you that most of the interior pictures on the TW site are of the penthouse units. The furniture is a dead giveaway. If you're staying in any other unit, don't expect such nice furnishings. While we were there, I believe that 2 spas were out of service. One wouldn't be so bad. Also, there had been a leak above the kitchen (probably the tub in the master bath) and the ceiling drywall had not been repaired. All in all, we had a nice time and would return again, even if it wasn't a penthouse. |

My girlfriend and I stayed in a one bedroom unit here Friday thru Sunday. We both loved it. It was quiet, and the staff was great. A lot of little shops to go check out but everything closes really early. The pizza at Mike's Pizza of Angels was great. Also, there is an Italian place (Cuzcos, I think) that's pretty good. There are also two casinos about 30-40min. away. We went to one on Saturday and the drive was nice. Overal we loved it and can't wait to go back. It's a great place if you just want to get away and relax. |

Loved the resort. We stayed in bldg.S unit 195. It was a one bdrm with a Murphy bed. The Murphy bed was comfortable(yes I slept on the Murphy bed so my snoring wouldn't keep my wife awake). The unit had recently been refurbished and still had a faint smell of new paint. The view from the deck was to the west, overlooking the golf course, was great. The resort was bigger than we thought. Check in and out was fast. The rec. center was big with air hocky and ping pong tables, a room with arcade games, big screen TV with couches to watch from. The fitness room was good sized with very good equipment. The pool was big. Lot's of lounge chairs around the deck. Next to the pool is a good sized kids pool and a hot tub. There is also a second pool, but the water was cold and it seemed no one had skimmed the bugs a junk from it for a couple of days. Needless to say no one was in that one. There is a basketball court and tennis court adjacent to the pool area. You can pretty much see all the attractions in the surrounding area in five days. We spent five days at AC and saw pretty much all there was to see. Since we don't drink wine, the tasting rooms at the wineries were passed. I do recommend driving to Murphys and visiting the Ironstone winery. Not for the wine, but for the 44 pound chunk of gold they have in the main store. Also, the Twisted Oak tasting room in Murphys and the winery itself has I swear, the biggest rubber chicken assortment in the world! Big Tree state park is a great place to see nature. Also the trails around Lake Melones are good for hiking. Would we go back? Yes. |
