Hope you don't mind my vacation stories.
We are scheduled to be at the Pono Kai resort for Thanksgiving week. We were supposed to leave San Jose Saturday morning, and learned that Hawaiian Airlines had to rescuedule our flight for this afternoon and it would have made us lose one precious day. Did some negotiating with the airline and ended up leaving for Kauai Friday evening instead! While checking online I learned that WM Kapaa Shores was available, so booked a 2BR on bonus time! (I love WorldMark!!!!!!!!)
We checked in around 11:30 last night and slept to the sounds of the waves. The resort sits right on the ocean here in Kapaa and it is just SOOO nice. (The resort is an old apartment, so it has its drawbacks... but the location is SO cool! )
Walked a few steps to the beach and watched the sunrise. Already in the mid 70-s and humid. Loving it.
Tried to access the WiFi (Aadheenam, looks like signal from the Hindu monastery), but failed, so using dialup. Took some pictures in the morning, of the sunrise and that of the grounds, but may not be able to upload any for a while.
The pool is closed for fence repair and won't be open for another month, according to the maintenance person.
Breakfast is being readied: Hash browns and Indian Noodle dish (with ginger, cilantro and mustard seasoning ... ) Will have that and check out. (11 AM check out at Kapaa!)
Pictures to follow....

| My family and I were on Oahu in March of this year and had a blast. Its fun to see the pictures of Hawaii and relive fond memories we had. Can't wait to go back again. |

Kudos for the Kronicles, Kapish....
Mind??????????????....Seriously, I think you made our day today. Nothing like palm trees during Thanksgiving week.
We've had 9-day reservations to Kapa'a Shores twice over the last three years but have had to cancel both times (switch to other WM places) mostly due to high airfares (picking the wrong time of year when it's big $$$).
Looks like you got the best of the airlines this time. An extra day instead of a day short (like usually happens with airline screw-ups).
Thanks for the pics of "our place" and have a great Thanksgiving at the other place.

Hi Manoj,
Looks like you and your family are at a nice place to celibrate the good life you're living. You deserve it, pal. We look forward to more pix if you have time. We'll be off to Mazatlan Saturday for 3 weeks, but aren't able to load pix on-line from there. After Xmas we may be able to do that. You have inspired us to upgrade our equipment. |

Thanks friends! I am glad to see so many responses to this "Kronicles" thread!
Myrna, we stayed in the 2 BR unit (311) and had a partial view of the ocean. From our unit's kitchen, living room and patio we could see the ocean and listen to the waves all the time. It was GREAT to listen to the calming waves all night!! From the master bedroom, upstairs, there is no view of the ocean. The master bedroom has no doors. The attached bath also has no doors! Never seen a unit like this before. I am not complaining, but I wanted to share that so that you won't get surprised when you stay here! |
