I don't see the purpose.
So far, I have only used it to follow companies who are having a sweepstakes if you follow them or "re-tweet" a message to your "followers".
I won tickets to the ballet this week. |

It is what I call a "one to many" application. The "one" broadcasts an 140 character, or less, message to many. The assumption is that the many (followers) wish to receive such messages. Aston Crucher(sp?) has over 2 million followers. |

| But how do I receive the broadcast, if I chose to? Do I have to be logged in to Twitter all the time? |

Both you and LLW could use Twitter. Instead of posting your sightings on the forum, you can post it on Twitter to your followers. It would be more beneficial to forum users. Instead of going on to the forum to check out the sightings, the tweet would show up on our phones or computers, within seconds of your post. |

Louise, go to http://twitter.com/search and do some searches with your favorite keywords. See if the results are beneficial to you. Do that for a few days and you will start using various keywords and phrases.
That may be a key to determine whether you like Twitter or not. |

I have many different groups of friends. Very few of the groups overlap. Not many are on Twitter yet. And I don't need/want followers. I am sure the Tweets that my friends and some celebrities post on Twitter would interest me, but would I be a good candidate for Twitter if I already got too much in my life that interest me? |

I do not use Twitter. You can be a tweeter or a follower. You can create multiple accounts, one for each group of friends. Whenever you want to send a message to a bunch of people, who follow your tweets, you tweet. It is sorta like mass email, instant messaging, or broadcasting.
You are going to the grocery store, you tweet your immediate family, in case they want you to buy something. You are getting ready to go for a run, you tweet your running buddies to meet you, if they want to go too. You are watching a soap on TV and you tweet your followers, who are away from the TV, blow by blow action. |

| Lots of HR and job placement companies post job leads on Twitter before they put their ads on sites like Dice, Hotjobs etc. If they get a list of good candidates they may choose not to place their paid ads on Dice etc. |

That's a good camera!!! Its an EasyShare. My son bought one in 8th grade and he is a freshman in college now and we still use it as our primary camera. It does not work with the new Mac any more so I just bought this new one. It's time we upgrade. |
