I would think they would be good for a year but the form does not give any other information other than the number of credits. I had some stuff booked using the credits I will get in July/borrowed credits (To get to Texas for the RCI Extra Vacation). I think I missed a day checking my account and when I came back and checked the FIFO had already happened so my credits available to borrow box had credits in it again. That is the only way I knew it happened. |

Okay...I fell much better. I just bought July 2009. I can understand different incentives and different sales strategies in different markets/years. |

I had to rush and use my II certificate also. I used it in Kelowna, BC, in December, and we had to drive through snow to get there. But it turned out to be good - we had the resort theatre (about 20 seats) all to ourselves, were offered coffee and blankets, and got to pick our movie. That was my first exchange experience. My second one was FSA.
Manteo Beach Club has very high ratings. But I don't think the units are as "like-new" as WM units. My first bonus time experience was 3 days after we purchased (from the developer!) at Discovery Bay. We were glad we bought WM (even developer), and still am.
shelbyr, you can make your own extra vacations at about the same cost. Just read more here, take a few cheap exchange vacations, and you will be an exchange pro. |

Thank you everyone! All the information you guys sent me was great. I checked mine again and it doesnt say that I cannot resale it or anything like that, but im sure that you guys are correct. I was under the impression that the $249 would be all I would have to pay. So it is a little bit of a shock that I may have to pay more. Not surprising... but still kind of a shock for me.
I may just try to find somewhere very close and use it that way, how it was suggested. I had planned on using both my weeks at the same time and go to Spain!! But was obviously surprised to find out they had different expiration dates!!
You all were amazing answering my question!! Thank you so much! |

Hey, Spain has a lot of timeshares! It's not that hard to exchange into them, if you know how. |

lol I dont think that I would want spain all the time! I cannot really afford to try to go to spain everytime!! but if I win the lottery at some point I will probably buy a nice house or cottage out there. Spain is very lovely and with all the other countries so close.... it would be amazing. |

I asked my friend, who bought in August (after promising me she wouldn't sign or buy anything) what she got.
Besides a debt that could have been less, she got her 15k annual points + 15k matching + an RCI certificate for a week (not sure of what fees are involved). This was at the Anaheim resort.
I won't remind her of what she did again but I did show her several accounts that she could have had at the time.....including a 25k assumable with payments under what she's paying......now that points are at $2 she thinks she got a deal......yes she actually is a natural blonde. |

I did the same for my daughter and SIL during their rescission period but my SIL thought their "goodies" were worth the money. They got an II certificate (or was it RCI) and for the 10,000 credits they bought, they got 10,000 bonus credits with a 1 year expiration date. Credits were $ 1.64 at the time, so $ 16,400 for 10,000 credits.
My husband and I bought the accounts we found for them, 15,000 credits with 12,200 banked and the anniversary month was the following month, so we got another 15,000 immediately after the accounts became ours. We paid $ 10,800 for our two accounts. |
