Hi,
I'd like to join RCI, but RCI seems to be a little inconvenient to use.
Please clarify if I 'm wrong
1. RCI annual memmber is is $89 / II membership is $79
2. RCI exchange fee is $189 / II exchange fee is $139
3. RCI flex window=45 days, II flex window=59 days
4. II can search online and book online using WM points or paying cold cash if it's a GETAWAY reservation What is ability to search and book online using WM points on RCI ? I was told that I can search but can't book.
On your listing said "Exchange fee only" does that mean similarly to 'GETAWAY' in II that WM points can't be used but only cash (credit card payment, etc.) ?
There are some resorts on RCI that I would like to stay at, but then their booking system is drawing me back.
Please help what is other big differences btw RCI / II ?

You can use your WM credits to book at RCI, especially since the Wyndham in the name Worldmark by Wyndham owns RCI. The "Exchange fee only" means you trade a week into RCI and pay the exchange fee. Their equivalent of a "Getaway" will list a price instead of "Exchange fee only". II is also $89 a year, but WM owners currently have a 2 years for 1 special.
You "hit the nail on the head". There are some resorts on RCI, which are not on II. It depends on how much you want in on those resorts. For some of the reasons you mentioned, people here prefer II over RCI, but if you want those other resorts, then you gotta do the other or both. |

I am also a wyndham owner. RCI membership came with it. I found it SUPER inconvience without being able to look up online with RCI. I hold my phone for two hours and could not find anything meets my requirement. I had to ask, if this doesn't work, can you try ...else...., how about .... .... etc! Oh, I gave up. Why can't I do those myself and would be much easier! Instead of wasting more time talking on the phone, I plan to just throw away my wyndham RCI deposit.
I knew that I can request for a week that can exchange online. However, they don't always give me one of those weeks. I haven't tried RCI using my WM membership. I hope it is better. |

I think I would be supremely frustrated also.
With WM, you can see on line if you have a deposit, any deposit. However, you are then limited to see only what that deposit can see, and trade only that deposit. Sure, you may be able to talk an RCI agent into switching, but then you would be calling again.
But since you are supposed to be charged only the credits of what you trade into, not what you give up, theoretically if you have a red 2BR deposit, you should be able to see and trade almost all inventory that RCI has, except where there is a quality filter, or where there is a computer glitch. You would need to trade that deposit before its expiration date.
That, is a lot of hassle. However, if you really really want to go to a resort that only RCI has (e.g. DVC), you have no other choice. I am glad I don't have that problem. |

Go with II. You can get 2 years for the price of 1. I think its $89.00 . Plus you can go on the web site and look for an exchange. I have both . Also book less than 59 days and use only 4000 credits. un like RCI its 45 days. Check out the Destination Mag for 2 fers. DUES ARE GOING UP. Just to love Wyndham.
