WM booking guidelines state that I must book 7 days in order to reserve a unit during Red Season if I book 13 months to 61 days in advance - is there a way to do this without having to spend so many credits?
Yes! You can book the number of days in the resort / unit size that you desire and then add on extra days in a less expensive unit size at that same resort OR a different resort.
Example:
I would like to stay Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in a Penthouse unit at the Seaside Resort during July. I want to book this far in advance to insure that I get this unit type during my dates, however, I do not have 18000 credits to spend on this reservation.
I can call the VPC and book the three days I need in the penthouse unit which will cost me 9000 credits. I then add 4 days in a blue studio unit (Palm Springs) to my reservation for an additional 1200 credits + $35 housekeeping.
There are several things you can do with the extra days:
- Rent them out
- Give them to friends / family
- Let them go unused and consider them an opportunity cost
Whatever you decide to do with the extra days, this is a great way to be able to book something far in advance and keep the costs manageable.
