Bryan and Evelina:
 |
I was born in Bad Kreusnach, Germany. My father was in the Army. I am the oldest of seven. My mom was always home for us. We traveled my entire childhood. I loved it. Ft. Lewis was my dad's last base. Dad retired as a CSM. They settled in Lakewood, WA. I moved to Hawaii for a couple of years and then moved back here to Lakewood.
Bryan was born in Spokane, WA. Later his family moved to western Washington. Bryan eventually joined the Air Force and spent a few years in Germany. He was then stationed at McChord Air Force Base in Washington. In Dec. of 1987, Bryan was diagnosed with AML. (Acute myelogenous leukemia) He went through chemo and radiation and then had a bone marrow transplant from his sister. He was medically discharged from the military. He is still in remission. Bryan and I met in 1991 and were married the next year.
I have been doing childcare since my children were 3 & 5 yrs old. Bryan helps with the childcare by playing Lego's all morning with the kids and then he has lunch with them. Nap time you'll find Bryan taking a nap right along with the kids. Then in the afternoon they play soccer and when Bryan gets tired, the kids all start to go home. His schedule does vary. Whenever they play with Veggietales toys or watch a Veggietales DVD Bryan sings the songs incessantly.
FEATURED OWNERS QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
How long have you been a member of WorldMark? Where have you visited?
I became a WorldMark owner in 1991. Bryan and I married the next year and then he became a WM owner as well. Some of this goes back to when WorldMark was named Club Esprit. It has been many years and a lot of computer changes with WM since I joined. So, I have no idea how many times I have been to these resorts.
Jacob's Landing, W,. Inn At Ottercrest, OR. The old Ocean Shores resort, WA, Surfside Inn, WA, Mariner Village, WA, Leavenworth, WA, Birch Bay, WA, The Camlin, WA, Discovery Bay, WA, Lake Chelan, WA, Arrowpoint, Idaho, Gleneden Beach, OR, Seaside, OR, WorldMark Las Vegas, NV, WorldMark Kona, HI, The Canadian, B.C.Sundance, B.C, Victoria, B.C, Coral Baja, Mexico, and 2 Alaskan cruises with WM credits.
What is your favorite WorldMark resort? What do you like about it?
I have a hard time choosing a favorite resort. I enjoy the quiet views at Sundance, Discovery Bay, Coral Baja and the sometimes not so quiet view of Victoria. Bryan's favorite resort is Discovery Bay. He enjoys the view and the jetted tub.
What things do you like to do when visiting this resort?
Sundance - shopping in Whistler, hiking, enjoying the restaurants. Discovery Bay - 7 Cedars casino, antique shopping in Port Townsend, hiking near Crescent Lake, day trip to Victoria, Hurricane Ridge and Sequim Animal Park, Coral Baja - shopping, walking, enjoying the restaurants, Victoria - watching the port traffic, walking all over town, sitting in the hot tub on the deck at night and watching the stars, enjoying the restaurants.
Would you share some of your favorite vacation web links and/or photos from this resort and the surrounding area?
This is where a tech instructional section would come in handy.
Tell us about the people you travel with - are they family? friends? co-workers? If you have children, what are their travel preferences?
We usually travel with our children, Trista, 26 at the end of this month, and T.W., 28. Our friend, Marlene, comes with us often. Sometimes, my sister Marge comes with us and maybe her mother-in-law, Elvira. Bryan's friends from the Air Force and high school, and their wives have come along on trips with us. Our nephew, Jason, who is in the Marine Reserves now, traveled with us the whole time he lived with us. Since we home schooled him every trip had some historical stops he had to write reports on. Trista and T.W. prefer to go on cruises. T.W. enjoyed snorkeling while we were on the Big Island.
We have met a lot of nice people through WMO. One couple, Janet and Jim and their daughter Jen have vacationed with us. They are so nice.
What is your most exciting vacation memory?
Our most exciting vacation memory would be the Alaskan cruises on the Sea Princess and Radiance of the Seas. Everyone should experience an Alaskan cruise at least once in their lives.
Have you ever had some kind of "vacation disaster" threaten to ruin your trip? Tell us your story!
We were vacationing in Leavenworth when Bryan got a call from his grandmother telling him his mother had been in a head-on collision north of Spokane. They flew her by helicopter to Spokane. Bryan drove from Leavenworth to Spokane to see his mom. She stayed in a coma for 3 weeks. She broke her C2 and crushed an arm and a leg.
What activities do you and your family enjoy besides vacationing? (i.e. camping, walking, painting, etc)
We enjoy hiking, spending time with family and friends and occasionally going out to dinner. We enjoy working in the yard and doing some remodeling. Bryan enjoys reading his bible and playing two board games called Axis and Allies and Star Fleet Battles with, T.W., his brother, Kirk and nephew Jason. These games can last for days and take up the whole kitchen. He is also perfectly happy playing video games by himself. T.W. enjoys strategy games, geo caching, target practice, hiking and search and rescue. Trista enjoys reading, watching classic movies, photography, Christian music, knitting, baking and cooking. She is also studying forensics. I enjoy getting together with my sorority sisters, reading my bible, sewing, knitting, crocheting and reading true crime and serial killer books.
Do you have a hobby? What is it and what makes it special to you?
See above.
Other than a WorldMark destination, what is your favorite place to visit for rest and relaxation?
Bryan really likes Silver wood, Amusement Park in Idaho. I actually sang in the saloon there.
If you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would that be and why?
I am perfectly happy living right here in the US of A. It doesn't get any better than this. Bryan said he would live with me.
How did you choose to become a WorldMark owner? Or, why did you choose WorldMark over other timeshare companies?
In 1991, my friend, Marlene took me to a timeshare presentation. I had never even heard of timeshare. I didn't like what I heard. It was a week based system and I couldn't even conceive the thought of taking off for a week. The next month she took me to a TW presentation. When we got there, they split us up and talked to us individually. That is when I met CarolAnn Stucky. She spent hours answering my questions. I thought the point based system was a wonderful idea. I bought that day with the intent to rent. That is exactly what I did.
13. What do you enjoy most about being a WorldMark owner?
I enjoy being able to take my children on vacations that I might not otherwise have been able to do.
What do you like best about this WMO website community you have helped create?
After awhile, you begin to feel like part of a big family. I enjoy being able to post without censorship from TW.
What suggestions do you have to enhance it?
Do we have a place to post suggestions for enhancements?
Do you have ideas for contests and giveaways that we could possibly incorporate in the future?
We could have a contest to design GOO wear. T shirts, hats and bags that have our logo on it but also has GOO incorporated into the design.
Giveaways could be wmowners.com t shirts or hats.
